     This web application resizes incoming photos to a size of 640 pixels wide. Your digital camera or your scanner will produce photos that are 2,000 pixels wide by 1,500 pixels high or even greater. Knowing this, you should resize your photos to 640 pixels wide before you attempt to upload them into this system. Maintain the ratio and allow the height of the photo to be calculated during the resize process. Focus on the width of 640 pixels during the resize process. Digital photos can be resized with the software that came with your digital camera or with Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Office Picture Manager or any pixel painting program or photo editing program.      NOTE: Be careful that you do not overwrite or lose your original high resolution photos. These are good for prints. Save your resized photos on your desktop as photo 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. Then upload these resized photos into this system. By doing this process, this system will not time out and your photos will upload much faster since the application does not have to resize the incoming photo. I have uploaded photos using this method via a cell phone and a 14.4Bps connection speed.

The upload process:

1. Login using your username and password.
   1. Forgot your info? Scroll this page to the bottom, recover your info.
   2. Need to register? Click here.
2. Once logged in, you are presented with this screen:
   
    
3. Click the "Create New Album" link and select a category for your photo album, enter a title and enter a description. (see below)
   
   
4. Click the Create New Album button and your photo album will be created.
    
5. A message will appear indicating that your album has been added to the system. Click OK. (see below)
   
    
6. Next you are presented with the album management links. Here you can view your album, edit the title or description, add your photos, upload a word doc, or remove the album. (see below)
   
    
7. To add photos, click the "Manage Pictures" link and you will be presented with this screen. (see below)
   
    
8. In the "Picture Manager" screen click the "Upload New Picture" link and locate your first picture for this photo album. This will present a "Browse" button for you to locate your picture. (see below)
   
    
9. Locate your first photo on YOUR COMPUTER using the browse button. I recommend that you save your resized photos onto your desktop as photo 1,2,3,4,5 etc and simply pick that photo. (see below)
   
    
10. Select the photo and then click "Upload File". (see below)
    
    
     
11. The picture is uploaded and you see a confirmation of this. (see below)
    
    
     
12. Click the "Back To Manage Picture" and continue to upload photos. Upload 1 to 15 photos per photo album.
     
13. Add a caption to a photo by clicking the "EDIT DESCRIPTION" link. Add a photo caption in this screen. (see below)
    
     
14. Continue this process until you have uploaded all the photos for this photo album.
     
15. Return to http://IPphotos.com and click on the NEW link to see your photo album!

How to Resize Photos w/ Microsoft Office Picture Manager

10 Steps to follow:

You can resize your high resolution photos with Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Follow these steps.

1. Right click the photo, select OPEN WITH, select Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
2. In Picture Manager, click the TOOLS MENU, then RESIZE.
3. On the right hand side of the screen is the task pane; select PREDEFINED WIDTH x HEIGHT and select 640 x 480.
4. Notice after selecting, you will see a summary of the new size. It may not be 640 x 480, but it will be 640 x some size. The IPphotos.com site is looking at the 640 width.
5. Now save as a new name.
6. Click FILE, SAVE AS... (DO NOT CLICK SAVE or you will lose your high res photo)....save as new name. I simply use 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.
7. Save to your desktop for easy location.
8. Process all your high res photos like this.
9. Upload these 640 photos into the site and the system will not time out.
10. These photos upload real fast. This is the process I use all the time.
